Why tri?

It’s a pretty fascinating study that shows the legs of a 40 year old triathlete compared to a 74 year old triathlete and also a 74 year old sedentary man.  The results are astonishing.  The legs of the 74 year old triathlete really aren’t all that different from the 40 year old triathlete but the poor legs of the sedentary guy- his are full of fat and without much muscle.

While this study was done with triathletes, the bottom line is the more active you are, the better!  No, you don’t have to take up tri’s in order to see long term benefits but you should certainly maintain your fitness for your lifetime.  Don’t think of fitness as a seasonal activity. This is your life and these are your legs, on and off exercise!
